Stop Guessing. Start Knowing.

Section 01 of 06

Business moves in real time. Financial understanding often does not.

Every day, a business owner makes decisions that shape the year. Whether to hire. Whether to buy inventory. Whether to raise prices. Whether to take on the equipment lease. Many of those decisions get made without a clear picture of where the business actually stands that week.

The rhythm of financial reporting was never designed for that. Month-end reporting, periodic financial reviews, and year-end statements exist to record the past accurately, and they do it well. But a decision made on the eighth cannot wait for a report that closes on the fifth of next month.

Small business owners are asked to make today’s decisions using yesterday’s information.

The problem is not that owners lack data. They have accounting software, bank statements, receipts, and reports. The problem is that the information arrives fragmented, historical, and hard to interpret at the moment a decision has to be made. Can I afford to hire this quarter? Why is cash tighter than it was in the spring, when revenue is up? Is a twelve percent margin good, or only better than last year?

Large organizations answer those questions by employing people whose job is to translate financial activity into decisions, continuously. Smaller businesses cannot, so they decide on instinct — with a filing cabinet of accurate records sitting right there.

That is why FinAssessor Ltd built Paarify.

Our philosophy

Meet businesses where they are

Whether a business runs on spreadsheets, accounting software, or neither, Paarify is designed to work with it. Start with Paarify, grow with Paarify.

Respect the system of record

When connected to accounting software, Paarify reads financial information but never writes back, preserving the integrity of the accounting records.

Built to work with your accountant

Owners can export financial information for their accountant or bookkeeper at any time. An Accountant View is planned, to let professionals review client information and collaborate inside the platform.

Turn data into understanding

A business owner should not need an accounting degree to understand how their business is performing.

Founder & CEO

Chidinma Unigwe

Founder & Chief Executive Officer, FinAssessor Ltd

Why she built it

Chidinma Unigwe spent more than twenty years turning data into decisions — across enterprise technology, analytics, and risk management, in both the public and private sectors. Large organizations pay well for that work, and they get it.

She incorporated FinAssessor Ltd while studying entrepreneurship at Joseph Business School, as a venture-building assignment. It did not stay an assignment for long.

Building it, she kept returning to the same asymmetry. Large organizations have sophisticated financial systems and dedicated finance teams. Many business owners are still making critical decisions on fragmented information, outdated reports, or instinct — not because their data is worse, but because nobody builds the interpretation layer for them.

Paarify is that layer, built for the businesses that were never going to get one otherwise.

She brings more than twenty years of experience across enterprise technology, analytics, artificial intelligence, data, and enterprise risk management, leading digital transformation work in both the public and private sectors. She holds a Master of Science specializing in analytics and artificial intelligence, and incorporated FinAssessor while studying entrepreneurship at Joseph Business School, where her work was later recognized with the Joseph Scholar Award.

Full bio

Chidinma Unigwe is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FinAssessor Ltd, a Canadian financial technology company working to make financial intelligence accessible to every business owner. Through its flagship product, Paarify, the company helps businesses turn financial data into clear insight that supports better-informed decisions.

She brings more than twenty years of experience across enterprise technology, analytics, artificial intelligence, data, and enterprise risk management, leading complex digital transformation initiatives in both the public and private sectors. One principle has held throughout: helping organizations turn data into better decisions.

She incorporated FinAssessor while studying entrepreneurship at Joseph Business School, as part of the program's venture-building curriculum. What began as a classroom assignment became a much larger vision, and her work was later recognized with the Joseph Scholar Award for academic excellence, leadership, and entrepreneurial achievement.

Her approach to building technology is shaped by her background in enterprise risk management. She believes trust is earned long before a customer signs up, which is why security, governance, transparency, and responsible AI are treated as foundational rather than as additions.

She holds a Master of Science specializing in analytics and artificial intelligence, along with professional certifications in project management and agile delivery.

Founder perspectives

Business owners don’t need more financial data. They need to understand what it’s telling them, while there’s still time to act.

Financial intelligence
Most business owners don’t lack financial data. They lack timely understanding. Every day they make decisions that can’t wait until month-end.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurs are asked to make courageous decisions every day. The least we can do is give them better information to make those decisions.
Artificial intelligence
AI should never manufacture confidence. In finance, a convincing answer that isn’t true is worse than admitting you don’t know.
Building trust
Trust isn’t something you add after launch. It’s built into every decision long before the first customer arrives.
Fintech
Technology should make financial understanding simpler, not more complicated.
Leadership
Building a company has taught me that leadership isn’t about having every answer. It’s about asking better questions and making responsible decisions.

Product

Paarify closes the gap between when something happens in a business and when the owner understands it. Everything else — receipt capture, bank connectivity, benchmarks, AI insight — is how that gets delivered.

Elevator pitch

Paarify is an AI-powered financial intelligence platform that helps business owners understand what is happening in their business today, instead of waiting for month-end reports.

30-second pitch

Every day, business owners make decisions about hiring, spending, pricing, and growth. Too often those decisions rest on outdated reports or intuition, because traditional financial reporting is designed to explain the past. Paarify changes that. It securely brings together receipts, bank activity, and financial data, then uses AI to turn that information into clear insight an owner can actually understand. Instead of waiting until month-end to know how the business is doing, owners can make better-informed decisions while there is still time to act.

Key features

AI receipt intelligence

Photograph a receipt and Paarify extracts the merchant, total, tax, tip, and line items in seconds. Categorization learns the business and sharpens with every scan.

Secure bank connectivity

Bank accounts connect through Plaid, so transactions arrive automatically. The intelligence layer works from current data instead of stale exports.

KPIs that drive decisions

Revenue, margins, runway, cash position, and expense ratios in one mobile-first dashboard that owners can check from anywhere.

Industry benchmarks

Margins, expense structure, and growth compared against 71 industries, so an owner knows whether the numbers are good rather than only whether they are rising.

Works with existing accounting software

Syncs with QuickBooks Online today, with more integrations planned. Paarify also works entirely on its own. Either way, the accountant stays in the loop.

Accountant-ready exports

Data exports in CSV or PDF at any time, formatted so an accountant or bookkeeper can work from them directly. The business owns its data and can take it elsewhere.

AI-powered alerts

Notifications when expenses spike, cash tightens, or a KPI breaks its pattern, while there is still time to respond.

Standalone & integrated

Every business is at a different stage. Some use accounting software, some use spreadsheets, some are only just getting started. Paarify is designed to meet businesses where they are and grow with them.

Start with Paarify

A business without accounting software can use Paarify on its own as a financial intelligence platform, to organize financial information, monitor performance, and get insight as activity happens.

Connect when you are ready

A business already using accounting software can securely connect a supported platform while continuing to use Paarify as its intelligence layer. Paarify reads financial information but never writes back, preserving the accounting system as the system of record.

Work better with your accountant

Owners can export financial information for their accountant or bookkeeper at any time. An Accountant View is planned, to give accounting professionals an easier way to review client information and collaborate inside Paarify.

Start with Paarify. Grow with Paarify.

Businesses can begin using Paarify without accounting software. As their needs evolve, they can connect supported accounting platforms, keep working with their accountant or bookkeeper, and export financial information whenever they need it.

Try it free

Every user gets a free 7-day trial. No credit card required.

Nothing to cancel if it is not a fit. Businesses joining the pilot program receive an extended trial ahead of general availability.

Why Paarify

Paarify does not compete with the tools a business already uses. It does the thing none of them was built to do.

Month-end reporting tells you how the month went.

Paarify tells you how the month is going.

Accounting software records what happened.

Paarify interprets what it means.

Accountants advise, periodically.

Paarify prepares you for that conversation, continuously.

Banks hold the money.

Paarify explains what the money is doing.

Spreadsheets show you numbers.

Paarify tells you which ones matter this month.

Why now

Two things changed at once. Bank connectivity became a commodity, so a small business can now stream its real transaction data into a tool without an enterprise integration budget. And language models became capable of explaining financial information in plain language rather than only charting it. Neither alone was enough. Together they make it possible to build, for a sole proprietor, the kind of interpretation layer that used to require hiring someone.

What Paarify is not

Paarify is not accounting software, and it is not designed to replace it. It does not maintain a general ledger, manage payroll, calculate depreciation, prepare tax filings, or perform bookkeeping functions.

It is a secure, centralized financial workspace that helps business owners understand their finances, whether or not they use accounting software.

A business without an accounting system can use Paarify on its own to organize financial information, monitor performance, and generate insight. As it grows, the owner can export that information for an accountant or bookkeeper, or connect supported accounting software while continuing to use Paarify as the intelligence layer.

For a business already using accounting software, Paarify reads financial information securely without writing back, preserving the accounting system as the system of record while adding a layer of near real-time intelligence on top.

Section 05 of 06

Security & Trust

Paarify handles financial data, so security is a starting condition rather than a later addition. These are the specific controls in place, and the independent parties who checked them.

Enterprise security

Data residency in Canada

Core service data — account information, receipts, transactions, and analytics outputs — is stored on Amazon Web Services in the Canada (Central) region.

Encryption in transit and at rest

Traffic is protected with modern TLS. Stored data is encrypted at rest, with sensitive fields encrypted at the application layer.

Multi-factor authentication

Accounts can be protected with time-based one-time passcodes or email verification, in addition to a password.

No plaintext passwords

Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Paarify cannot read a customer password, and neither can its staff.

Bank credentials never touch Paarify

Plaid handles bank authentication directly. Paarify does not collect, see, or store banking login credentials.

Read-only accounting sync

The QuickBooks Online integration reads data for analysis. It does not write anything back into the customer ledger.

Card data handled by Stripe

Payment processing runs through Stripe. Paarify never stores a full card number.

Role-based access control

Access to data is granted by role rather than by default, so an account only reaches what it is entitled to reach.

Audit logging

Activity is logged so that access and changes can be reconstructed after the fact rather than assumed.

Isolated, tested backups

Backups are held in a separate cloud account under a dedicated encryption key, and restores are tested rather than assumed.

Independent testing

Security is verified by third parties, not only self-assessed. See the Penetration Test and CPA/CIA Evaluation sections.

Customer data is never sold

Paarify does not sell or share personal information, and does not use customer data for advertising.

Independent validation

Two outside parties were engaged to test different things: whether the numbers can be trusted, and whether the system can be broken into.

CPA/CIA evaluation

Completed

Paarify commissioned an independent evaluation by a professional holding both Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor credentials. The purpose was to test a specific claim: that a platform which interprets financial data, without being accounting software, can be relied upon by a business owner making decisions.

What the evaluation examined

  • Whether reported figures faithfully reflect the underlying stored data.
  • Whether the boundary between financial intelligence and accounting is clearly drawn for users.
  • Whether AI-generated insight stays grounded in real data rather than producing plausible fabrications.
  • Whether the platform is suitable for the small-business audience it targets.

The evaluator is named in the full report. Details of the engagement and the evaluator are available to journalists on request.

Penetration testing (ethical hacking)

In progress

Ahead of public launch, FinAssessor Ltd engaged an independent cybersecurity specialist to perform authorized penetration testing, often called ethical hacking. The purpose is straightforward: to think and behave like a real attacker, actively attempting to find and exploit weaknesses before a criminal ever gets the opportunity.

What the assessment covers

  • The mobile application
  • APIs, the interfaces that let software components talk to each other
  • AI-powered features
  • Public-facing web applications
  • Authentication and access controls

Testing is conducted independently and without prior knowledge of how the system is built, which gives an objective assessment rather than a guided tour.

How findings are handled

  • Every issue is assessed on potential impact and severity.
  • Critical and high-risk findings are addressed first.
  • Fixes are independently verified through retesting by the same specialist, not self-certified.
  • Lessons learned feed into future development and security reviews, so the same class of issue is less likely to recur.

To help protect customer data, detailed technical findings are not publicly disclosed. A high-level summary of scope and outcome is available to journalists, partners, and enterprise customers on request and, where appropriate, under a confidentiality agreement.

To request either report, email press@paarify.com.

Insurance

FinAssessor Ltd maintains commercial insurance as part of its commitment to responsible governance and operational resilience.

While insurance cannot prevent incidents, it demonstrates our belief that trust is earned through preparation. Alongside enterprise security, independent testing, privacy, and governance, it reflects our commitment to building a company that customers can trust.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Canadian FinTech FinAssessor Ltd Launches Paarify, an AI Financial Intelligence Platform for Small Business Owners

Ontario, Canada — Small business owners are asked to make today's decisions using yesterday's information. Hiring, inventory, pricing, and spending decisions come up continuously, while month-end reporting, periodic financial reviews, and year-end statements are built to describe a period that has already closed.

Paarify, a mobile-first financial intelligence platform built by Canadian financial technology company FinAssessor Ltd, was built to close that gap. It helps business owners understand their business as it happens, rather than waiting for month-end reports, and is now available to pilot customers.

Accounting software records transactions. Paarify interprets them. The platform turns receipts, bank activity, and invoices into key performance indicators, industry benchmarks, cash-flow forecasts, anomaly alerts, and plain-language explanations of what has changed and what to do about it — without requiring an accounting background.

"Most small business owners are not short on data. They are short on interpretation," said Chidinma Unigwe, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FinAssessor Ltd. "They can open a report and still not know whether this month was good. Paarify closes that gap."

Unigwe spent more than twenty years leading technology, data, project management, and enterprise risk initiatives across the public and private sectors before founding the company. Across that work she saw the same pattern: organizations with the resources to turn data into decisions did so, and smaller businesses, lacking those resources, did not.

Paarify works on its own or alongside existing accounting software. It connects to bank accounts through Plaid, syncs read-only with QuickBooks Online, captures receipts through AI-assisted scanning, and compares business performance against benchmarks across 71 industries.

The platform is built with security as a starting condition rather than a later addition. Customer data is stored on Amazon Web Services in the Canada (Central) region, encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected by multi-factor authentication. Paarify has completed an independent evaluation by a credentialed accounting and audit professional and has commissioned independent penetration testing by an external security specialist.

Paarify is available on iOS and Android. Businesses can join the pilot program at paarify.com/pilot.
